Alpha Adroit Engineering Ltd — Geotechnical Engineering and Concrete Testing Services
Alpha Adroit provides engineering consulting and testing services to builders, developers, prime-consultants, contractors, private and public owners, government, and the general public in a wide range of industry sectors. We accept all sizes of projects, and no job is too small or too big for Alpha Adroit.
With our headquarters office in Edmonton, Alberta, we provide services throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Manitoba. Alpha Adroit offers services to international locations (particularly the Middle East) through its headquarters and advanced laboratories in Edmonton, Alberta. Projects in Alaska, Iceland, Greenland, Yukon, Ontario, Newfoundland, and Labrador would be considered based on the project's merits and Alpha Adroit's unique advantages.
Dr. Mohammadali Kia, P.Eng., incorporated Alpha Adroit Engineering Ltd in Alberta, Canada, in 2013. Dr. Mohammed G. Rahman, P.Eng., and Dr. Jamshid Sadr Karimi (Professor Emeritus) joined Alpha Adroit's core geotechnical engineering team in 2015. Alpha Adroit purchased state of the art field and laboratory testing equipment, including also a fleet of nuclear density gauges, advanced in-situ and laboratory soil and concrete testing, and geotechnical instrumentation capabilities. In 2015, Alpha Adroit purchased all the tangible and intangible assets that belonged to Coffey Geotechnics Inc in Calgary. Coffey International (Australia) had acquired S&P Geo-Engineering and Geo-Canada and established Coffey Geotechnics Inc in Canada in 2008. Coffey International had made a reputation for its major international projects, such as geohazard assessment and foundation design works for the tallest skyscraper in the world (Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE). The project archives and other intellectual property (know-how) that Alpha Adroit acquired in 2015 include projects that date back to the 1940s (such as Norman Wells Pipeline in Canada).
We provide a wide range of services in the following fields: Geotechnical Engineering; Materials Testing and Construction Quality Control including QA/QC inspections, field and laboratory soil testing, concrete testing, and materials engineering; and specialty Environmental Consulting Services such as environmental site assessments, environment restoration, geoenvironmental remediation, contamination cleanup, and environmental protection.
Alpha Adroit's geotechnical engineering services mainly focus on site-investigation and soil characterization, rock and soil slope stability analysis, landslide remediation, footing and deep foundations (piles) in soils and rocks, rock sockets, safety evaluation of soil-fill and rock-fill dams, geotechnical instrumentation, soil compaction testing, earthwork monitoring, analysis of soil-structure interaction, earth retaining structures, excavation and shoring in soils and rocks. Further, Alpha Adroit offers numerical soil mechanics, ground improvement technologies for problematic soils, design and analysis of soil structures, unsaturated soil mechanics, permafrost and frozen ground engineering, failure investigation (forensic geotechnical engineering and expert witness), foundation repair, directional drilling, river crossings, pipelines, dams, bridges, and pavement design.
We also provide routine and advanced testing for soil, rock, aggregate, structural concrete, cement, plastic concrete, zero-slump concrete, light-weight concrete, grout concrete, mortar, shotcrete, soil-cement, roller-compacted concrete (RCC), and asphalt concrete. We can conduct the routine tests per required ASTM, CSA, ACI, AASHTO, BSI, ISO, and DIN standards.
